About The Position

North 40 Outfitters in Great Falls, MT is looking to hire a Full-Time IT Systems Administrator to join our team. We believe that each team member plays a vital role in the success of our company. As an IT Systems Administrator at North 40, you will be responsible for maintaining and administering North 40's network, server, and phone infrastructure. This full-time position requires availability to work all scheduled shifts during business hours, which are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The role also involves after-hours (on-call) system maintenance and occasional travel. This shift can vary and include working weekends and certain holidays, and will require flexibility in scheduling based on business needs.

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field, or five or more years of relevant IT experience and/or training.

  • Ability to document system configurations, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Basic knowledge of retail policies and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate clearly and professionally through phone, email, and in person.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks based on importance, with or without direction.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft/Azure Active Directory and Group Policies.
  • Experience in Microsoft 365, Teams, and SharePoint administration.
  • Knowledge of IIS, DFS, WSUS, DNS, DHCP, FTP, CA SSL, and AD Certificate Services.
  • Familiarity with firewalls and networking hardware (e.g., Check Point, Meraki, Aruba, Cambium).
  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi hardware (e.g., Meraki, Cambium).
  • Understanding of network routing and switching (Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing protocols).
  • Proficient with network troubleshooting tools (e.g., packet captures, Network Mapper, NSLOOKUP, DIG, Debug Logging).
  • Knowledge and experience in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Experience working in virtual environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Understanding of VOIP systems (e.g., 3CX or similar).
  • Familiarity with computer systems and business practices.
  • Advanced experience with Windows and Linux servers.
  • Knowledge of backup administration, scheduling, and troubleshooting using Veeam.
  • Ability to adapt from sitting for long periods to standing, with the capacity to view a computer monitor for extended periods; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, while utilizing correct lifting, loading, and carrying techniques.
  • Some after-hours system maintenance may be required (on-call).
  • Occasional travel between local and regional offices may be necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and administering North 40's network, server, and phone infrastructure.
  • Conduct research and development to maintain and promote ongoing innovation within the infrastructure.
  • Ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures align with the organization’s values and principles.
  • Documenting system configurations, policies, procedures, and standards.
