About The Position

This role provides advanced technical support, system administration, and security oversight for Wood-Mizer’s IT environment. This role responds to complex technical issues, supports network and endpoint infrastructure, and contributes to system design, configuration, and improvements. The Systems Analyst II assists in implementing security controls, managing IT assets, supporting network initiatives, and enhancing end-user experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. This position works with greater independence than a Systems Analyst I, supports project-level assignments, and collaborates with IT leadership to strengthen system reliability and security.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with computer hardware platforms, printers, mobile devices, scanners, tablets, and network-connected equipment
  • Experience with a broad range of software, including manufacturing systems, networking tools, O365, VoIP, endpoint management, and Active Directory
  • Experience with IDS, SIEM, or other network monitoring tools
  • Experience with networking principles, TCP/IP, VLANs, routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Familiarity with firewall technologies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation -- Basic – Advanced
  • Understanding of network security concepts such as authentication, encryption, secure remote access -- Basic – Advanced
  • Strong proficiency in network troubleshooting methodologies and tools -- Basic – Advanced
  • Knowledge of IT security frameworks (ISO, NIST, CIS) -- Basic
  • Knowledge of Nutanix systems in an on-premise configuration -- Advanced
  • Knowledge of Veeam backups -- Basic
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, especially when diagnosing complex issues -- Advanced
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders -- Advanced

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 Years of experience in IT systems, technical support, or network/security roles
  • Experience supporting technology in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Industry Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Security, CISSP, or COMPTIA
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and network protocols—to identify performance issues and recommend improvements.
  • Investigate and resolve advanced network-related problems by analyzing traffic, diagnosing bottlenecks, and implementing corrective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, topology diagrams, firewall rules, asset dependencies, and security procedures.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, cybersecurity personnel, and developers to integrate secure network practices and ensure adherence to IT policies and standards.
  • Manage mobile devices, IoT devices, and endpoint management systems; ensure compliance with patching, updates, and security requirements.
  • Participate in implementation of system enhancements, infrastructure upgrades, and new technology rollouts.
  • Respond to and resolve escalated end-user technical issues involving hardware, software, networking, security, and system access.
  • Use remote support tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues for on-site and remote users, including software installations, upgrades, and configurations.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, provisioning, hardware deployment, and deprovisioning according to established policies.
  • Coordinate complex hardware repairs or replacements and maintain accurate tracking of IT assets.
  • Serve as an escalation point for Analysts I; assist with training, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Conduct periodic security audits, assess vulnerabilities, and recommend mitigation measures to strengthen system security.
  • Support compliance with IT security frameworks and best practices (ISO, NIST, CIS).
  • Participate in incident response and after-action reviews when security events occur.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
