About The Position

Marstel-Day, LLC, a premier environmental and sustainability consulting firm, is seeking an entry level IT Support Technician to support the organization’s technology operations. This is a growth role ideal for a candidate interested in working in a small, mission-oriented federal contractor environment with exposure to enterprise systems. We offer a flexible work environment where candidates work remotely and provide support from anywhere in the United States, with occasional onsite or travel requirements as needed. The candidate will provide day-to-day technical support for end users across multiple business units and federal compliance systems. Responsibilities will include:

Requirements

  • Education training or experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field. Recent graduates or career transitioners with relevant coursework, certifications, or training programs are strongly encouraged to apply. An IT related Degree is a plus but not required.
  • Strong desire to learn IT operations, security principles, and compliance practices under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel for data entry, basic formulas, filtering, and simple data management tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, customer service orientation, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures, maintain attention to detail, and handle multiple tasks in a structured environment.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently while collaborating as part of a small IT team.
  • Be eligible to work in the U.S. (DHS Form I-9 must be completed by the incumbent and submitted to DHS for verification of citizenship and eligibility through E-Verify)
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Submit to a background check as a condition of any final offer of employment.
  • Be willing to provide proof of any certifications or degrees obtained.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in IT support, helpdesk operations, technical troubleshooting, or customer service roles is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, or cloud-based platforms such as Azure, SharePoint or Intune is a plus.
  • Military IT experience, technical certifications (such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications), or internship experience will be considered favorably but are not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT support tickets, user requests, and incident response.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and peripheral issues across laptops, desktops, mobile devices.
  • Support account creation, onboarding, and password resets across Microsoft 365 tenants.
  • Assist in system patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation coordination.
  • Follow established security protocols and compliance standards.
  • Document resolutions, procedures, and support activities within the IT ticketing system.
  • Coordinate with senior IT Staff to ensure system integrity and compliance adherence.
  • Assist in hardware inventory management, device deployments, and lifecycle maintenance.
  • Conduct routine system checks and basic administrative functions as directed.
