About The Position

IT Support Specialist assists the IT team in providing support to end users on a variety of systems and with a variety of software issues. Identifies, researches and provides solutions to technical and subject matter problems. Assist with incident support and IT projects.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in high school and interested in technology, computers, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Has familiarity with basic computer operations (e.g., installing software, connecting devices)
  • Eagerness to learn new IT systems and processes (training will be provided).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication skills to interact with staff and students professionally.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Dependable, with good time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Windows platform is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Power point, Excel), corporate email systems and multiple web browsers is important.

Nice To Haves

  • Mac and Linux are a plus.
  • Minimum of two years working in technology related field is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Google apps & classroom is a plus.
  • Experience working with computer systems in an educational environment is preferred.
  • College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and manage district technology and assist users in the Google Admin Panel.
  • Have expert knowledge of Chromebooks, Google Chrome and Google Admin Suite.
  • Support district Gmail accounts.
  • Support district asset management software and processes.
  • Troubleshoot, test and fix technology problems for end users.
  • Set-up, install, image and configure new IT hardware.
  • Lead IT orientation for new employees.
  • Make hardware repairs on units in a timely and safe manner.
  • Assist users with software installation, upgrades and anti-virus.
  • Assist with the distribution and disposition of IT equipment.
  • Assist with the diagnosis of system problems on the IT network.
  • Ensure incidents are logged for IT support.
  • Follow up with users to ensure incidents are resolved.
  • Maintain documentation as required.
  • Coordinate with supervisor for unit repairs, incident support, priorities and projects.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required to provide support to the students and professional staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform well in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong team and customer service focus, flexibility and positive attitude required.
  • Proven track record of completing tasks/projects accurately and on schedule.
  • Excellent technical, communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong diagnostic, organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments.
