About The Position

Kohler Credit Union is seeking an IT professional eager to grow their career within a supportive, expanding organization. While the primary focus is help desk support, you'll also assist with hardware and software setup, installation, maintenance, and occasional network or system-level tasks. Job Overview The IT Support Specialist provides technical support and resolves issues across computer systems in diverse environments. This role focuses on help desk assistance while also handling hardware and software setup, maintenance, and network or system-level support to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience providing technical support or working with IT systems in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for technical support requests, providing timely resolution.
  • Assist users with system access, software usage, and troubleshooting issues across devices and platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Provide after-hours on-call support as part of a rotational schedule.
  • Set up, install, and configure computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Collaborate with system administrators on system-level tasks and upgrades.
  • Assist with implementation of new technologies and system rollouts.
  • Document, track, and monitor incidents using a help desk ticketing system.
  • Support asset management processes by documenting and updating IT hardware and software.
  • Identify opportunities to improve IT processes and user support experiences.
  • Provide user training on hardware and software as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to IT security policies during troubleshooting and system setup.
