The IT Support Specialist will provide crucial support for resolving intermediate technical issues, ensuring smooth operations, and user satisfaction. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining system performance, and providing guidance to entry-level support staff.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to proactively problem-solve
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to adapt to new processes and procedures quickly
  • Results-driven, positive team player
  • Proficiency with Windows and Mac operating systems, common office applications, and network connectivity issues
  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in IT support, including level 2 or similar roles
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems
  • Experience managing the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
  • Experience supporting business printers

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with active directory, remote desktop tools, and IT service management systems is a plus
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Resolve intermediate-level technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems
  • Address and troubleshoot problems escalated from level 1 support
  • Perform regular updates, patches, and backups to maintain system stability and security
  • Assist with user account creation, modification, and management, including permissions and access controls
  • Maintain detailed records of support activities, solutions, and system configurations. Contribute to the knowledge base with new insights and resolutions
  • Identify and escalate complex issues to level 3 support as necessary. Provide detailed information to facilitate effective resolution
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software, including workstations and peripherals
  • Offer guidance and training to level 1 support staff. Share knowledge to improve overall support processes
  • Provide excellent service to end-users, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of issues with professionalism and courtesy
  • Follow IT policies, procedures, and best practices, including security protocols and data protection regulations
