About The Position

The IT support analyst position is a rewarding and highly valued function within NorthWestern Energy. They serve as the liaison between the Business Technologist Department and our internal users. Support Analysts500 work in a fast-paced team environment to provide top tier support for all of Northwestern Energy's technology systems.

Requirements

  • Required Associate's degree or combination of education and relevant technology support experience in lieu of degree may be considered
  • Working knowledge of relevant technical discipline including workstations, software or mobile devices
  • Required working knowledge of servers, networks (LAN/WAN), network security, and business continuity practices
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise and Mobile operating systems preferred, to include a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to document issues through a ticketing system and provide basic phone support and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to tailor communication for varying levels of technical comprehension
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate workload and employee development
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships
  • Skilled in oral and written communication

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to end users on a variety of computer hardware, software, and telecommunications issues on a multiple platform environment. This includes identifying, researching, and resolving the issues in a timely manner
  • Organize, execute, and coordinate multiple assignments to meet established completion dates
  • Balance Long-term Business Technology strategies with everyday responsibilities while ensuring your efforts are consistent with Business Technology policies and practices
  • Deploy and develop new equipment, install software, and perform hardware updates and repairs
  • Embrace new concepts quickly and apply them throughout an evolving environment
  • Collaborate with other Business Technology groups on project creation and troubleshooting as staffing and workload requires
  • Explore new technologies and future application releases thought external resources
  • Understand industry standard change and follow Change Management Procedures and policies in impelling changes on the network
  • Maintain technical documentation through end user resolution, change management, and training.
  • Provide mentoring to colleagues
  • Fulfill all required work hours, which may include evenings and weekends, as well as a required on-call rotation following a training period
  • Safely perform individual lifts (weighing up to 50 pounds) on a regular basis
  • Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Northwestern Energy's business and deliver exceptional solutions when engaged by colleagues, stakeholders, and other vendors
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Respond to customers via telephone, email, or in person

  • Travel to training, conferences, and off-site meetings (up to 15% travel per year)
