About The Position

Peraton is seeking an IT Specialist to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3 in Coronado, CA. This role is part of the SITEC 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order, which provides USSOCOM, its Component Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and deployed forces with O&M services. These services include maintaining Network Operations (NetOps), systems and network infrastructure, providing end-user and common device support, managing configuration, change, license, and assets, conducting training, and performing Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The IT Specialist will perform Tier one and two network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD, administering network and communications systems, including IT Specialist systems. The position requires solid technical skills and experience with various network protocols, software, and hardware involved in IT Specialist operations.

Requirements

BS + 8 years of experience OR MS + 6 years of experience OR PHD with 3 years of experience OR HS with 12 years of experience OR AA with 10 years of experience
TS/SCI clearance required
Required certification: DoDD 01-M IAT II AND CCNA
Prior experience Implementing network security access
Prior experience with Virtual Local Area Network

Responsibilities

Providing installation, tuning, testing, operating, monitoring, upgrading, patching, break/fix, defense, and management of WAN and LAN routing and switching infrastructure hardware and software including network hardware and software
Planning, designing, engineering, configuring, installing, operating, maintaining, defending, troubleshooting, and repairing LAN/WAN capabilities, including point-to-point circuits, satellite connectivity, dedicated Internet connections, and broadband Internet connections including necessary additions and changes to associated routers, switches, and encryption devices
Planning, designing, engineering, configuring, operating, maintaining, defending, troubleshooting, and repairing LAN PORs
Planning, designing, engineering, configuring, operating, maintaining, defending, troubleshooting, and repairing WAN infrastructures, including necessary additions and changes to associated routers, switches, external USSOCOM and commercial provider circuits and encryption devices
Planning, designing, engineering, configuring, operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing WAN Programs of Record (PORs)
Planning, designing, engineering, configuring, operating, maintaining, defending, troubleshooting, and repairing the Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) architectures of USSOCOM, its Component Commands, TSOCs, and deployed forces
Planning, designing, engineering, configuring, maintaining, defending, troubleshooting, and repairing classified and unclassified wireless LANs, including wireless access points and their interconnection to the wired infrastructure
Provisioning, operating, managing, and monitoring LAN/WAN Virtual Private Network (VPN) services to securely connect remote elements and mission partners over the SIE and shared public IP networks, while ensuring compliance with applicable DoD, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), DISA, United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM), and USSOCOM policies, procedures, regulations, and directives
Troubleshooting LAN/WAN voice, data, and transmission networks and evaluate the effect of architectural changes on them
Configuring, updating, monitoring, managing, troubleshooting, and documenting routers and switches in the USSOCOM LAN/WAN networks
Collaborating and coordinating with external Government and commercial circuit providers to expedite the restoration of circuit outages
Troubleshooting and proactively resolving technical issues
Providing technical problem solving for customer support of database
Installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop and laptop PCs, mobile devices and peripherals, such as printers
Installing and configuring application and operating system software and upgrades
Removing old equipment and performing data migration to new machines
Maintaining an inventory of installed software, managing software licensing, and creating policies and procedures for upgrades
Working with hardware and software vendors to verify timely product delivery and ensuring that new equipment is installed and ready to operate on schedule
Analyzing and making recommendations for hardware and software standardization
