About The Position

Commonwealth Rolled Products is a leading manufacturer of Aluminum rolled products for the Automotive, Commercial, and Industrial markets. The Company operates its production facility in Lewisport, KY with the support of an Automotive Innovation Center for R&D, Sales and Field Service in Madison Heights (DET), and Inside Sales in the Cleveland, OH area. Our Information Technology department is seeking a talented IT Specialist to join its team. The purpose of this position is to provide technical support to end users by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or GED.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication skills—able to speak clearly and patiently with non-technical users.
  • Basic familiarity with using computers, smartphones, or common software (Microsoft 365, browsers, etc.).
  • Ability to follow written instructions or troubleshooting guides.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Comfortable asking questions and seeking help when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in information technology or computer science
  • 1+ year of related experience

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in maintaining a zero incident safety culture.
  • Live and champion the Commonwealth Rolled Products core values; Safety, Integrity, Customer Focus, Ownership, Excellence, and Teamwork.
  • Respond to incoming support tickets, phone calls, and emails to assist users with technical issues.
  • Troubleshoot basic problems related to: o Windows or macOS system o Password resets and account lockouts o Email connectivity and configuration o Printer and peripheral device issues o Basic network connectivity (Wi-Fi, VPN, Ethernet)
  • Follow step-by-step procedures or scripts to resolve common issues.
  • Escalate more complex problems to senior specialists or Level 3 support.
  • Document all issues, steps taken, and final resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Assist with computer setup, imaging, and deploying new hardware.
  • Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude while supporting employees.
  • Learn and adhere to IT policies, security procedures, and best practices.
