About The Position

Grapevine Faith Christian School exists to develop and graduate authentic Christian leaders. Position Summary : The IT Specialist 2 supports the mission of our school by being the Tier 2 contact for tech requests. The Specialist fills a crucial role by providing help for users and troubleshooting technology problems in a timely manner. Work is performed under limited supervision. The Specialist reports to the Director of Information Technology. Status : Full-Time / Hourly / Non-Exempt / 12-month

Requirements

  • Must possess and model a personal authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and be a member of a Bible believing church.
  • 3-5 years experience in network operations and technical support.
  • Strong hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems..
  • Strong working knowledge of LAN/WAN and Internet uses and typical user connectivity problems.
  • Proven experience and success with LAN and WAN, implementation and support.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and Cisco Meraki Network Systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace.
  • Understands advanced computing and network architecting concepts.
  • Must have a high level of discernment and wisdom, and the ability to manage confidential information.
  • Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of help desk ticketing systems and ability to document problems/solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and to make decisions in accordance with the President and Board’s expectations, established school policies and procedures, and the school mission and core values.
  • Highly self-motivated with a keen attention to detail and a strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to plan, set priorities, and implement work in a disciplined manner to keep multiple projects progressing to completion simultaneously with minimal direction.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high pressure environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written command of the English language.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and relational skills.
  • Uses acceptable English in written and oral communication.
  • Speaks with clear articulation

Responsibilities

  • Seeks to model in speech, actions, and attitude, a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.
  • An intrinsic troubleshooter, leaning into complex issues utilizing a detail-oriented and determined approach to find solutions.
  • Must thrive in ambiguity, connect dots that others miss and take full ownership of solutions.
  • Provides elevated quality service and support for the mission critical systems and end users.
  • Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, upgrades and troubleshoots end-user and network hardware related equipment and software in order to deliver required IT support.
  • Installs, supports and maintains network devices to ensure roaming and remote user connectivity.
  • Provides second-level support for troubleshooting and resolving equipment and network failures.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves all assigned tech support requests and escalates any unresolved issues to the Director of Information Technology.
  • Continually learns new computer applications and develops a high level of operational proficiency.
  • Provides training, support and documentation to end users on new and existing equipment and software applications.
  • Performs analysis and diagnosis of complex IT problems and recommends and implements corrective solutions including coordinating on-site repairs as needed.
  • Installs, maintains and supports new IT Equipment.
  • Maintains and updates skills as required to remain proficient with respect to advances in computing technologies.
  • Maintain and uphold the religious standards of Faith Christian School to include the Lifestyle Statement, Staff Covenant and Statement of Faith.
  • Responsible to disciple, instruct and actively pray for students on our campus.
  • Responsible to reinforce a Biblical Worldview in every workplace interaction with both students, staff, and faculty.
  • Other duties as assigned that are closely related to this position.
  • On call for emergency response for equipment and software issues.
