About you and the role Dow has an exciting position for a Solution Specialist located in Midland, MI or Houston, TX. As a Solution Specialist, you will own and manage a small portfolio of digital solutions and systems, guiding them through their full lifecycle—analysis, design, implementation, adoption, optimization, and end-of-life retirement. Your work will deliver advanced functional and business capabilities that accelerate Dow’s digital transformation. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary IT team—including analysts, designers, developers, and support specialists—to deliver innovative, user-centric solutions. A key part of your role is to gather and analyze data to define functional and technical requirements, with a strong focus on experience, simplification, automation, efficiency, and reliability. You will also oversee development and adoption of solutions leveraging best-in-class mobile, web, desktop, and cloud technologies, while identifying opportunities for digital innovation.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant OR a minimum 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
  • Business Requirements: The ability to gather, analyze, and translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements that guide the design and delivery of effective digital solutions.
  • Solutions Delivery: Managing the full lifecycle of digital solutions—including design, integration, development, testing, deployment, optimization, and retirement—to ensure they meet performance, security, and usability expectations.
  • Design Thinking: Applying user‑centered methods such as journey mapping and experience analysis to create solutions that improve employee and customer experience while driving simplification, automation, and efficiency.
  • Integration Services: Coordinating and defining end‑to-end system and process integrations to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability across applications, platforms, and business processes.
  • Strategic Planning: Developing solution roadmaps, identifying digital innovation opportunities, and aligning technology investments and resource needs with organizational strategy and long‑term business goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Source-to-Pay, Finance, and EHS&S business processes.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP HANA (Finance, Source-to-Pay, or EHS&S modules).
  • Interest or experience in AI and automation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in system integrations, data management, and troubleshooting complex application issues.
  • Experience with supply chain planning and scheduling business processes (demand planning, supply planning, etc.)
  • Experience with design and configuration of SAP ERP (MM, PP modules), SAP APO (DP, SNP, PP/DS), and/or OMP technology platforms
  • Proficiency in system integrations, data management, and troubleshooting complex application issues

Responsibilities

  • Requirements Analysis: Understand key business drivers to explore, analyze, and map business and functional requirements.
  • Experience Mapping: Translate user journeys and stories into solutions that enhance employee and customer experience (EX/CX).
  • Solution Lifecycle Management: Drive end-to-end lifecycle—design, architecture, integration (buy vs. build), development, testing, and compliance with corporate standards and security policies.
  • Adoption & Support: Support implementation, user adoption, and define supplier/team support models.
  • Performance Management: Establish controls, KPIs, and measures for solution performance and reliability.
  • Integration & Optimization: Coordinate with Solution Managers and Business Process Managers for end-to-end process integration.
  • Roadmap Development: Define improvement and innovation roadmaps; assess resources, technology, and investment needs.
  • Team Support: Assist senior Solution Managers with workload analysis and capacity planning.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems using technical expertise and sound judgment.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts and provide informal guidance to new team members.
