About The Position

The IT Site Support role provides IT infrastructure support on-site and remotely, including incident management, system maintenance, and project delivery, working closely with the Global IT team and external partners. This role ensures IT systems operate reliably, securely, and in line with company standards. The role also supports advanced engineering projects to develop new or improved processes and plant automation systems. It involves supporting Operations with troubleshooting, maintaining, and programming PLC and other automation controls for equipment. Responsibilities include conducting machine risk assessments, ensuring compliance with machine safety standards, participating in TMSS initiatives, assisting in facility expansion planning, layout design, system integration, and quality control. The role also requires creating software requirements documentation, contributing to peer reviews, and participating in validation and testing. Additionally, it involves developing and maintaining process documentation, work instructions, and best practice guidelines, and gathering, analyzing, and compiling data from automation systems. This position primarily provides IT support for the Seward location but may support other locations as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar discipline preferred
  • 1-3 years of prior experience
  • Strong ability to work independently within a matrix organization.
  • Expertise in installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of Windows OS, Microsoft tools, and client-side software.
  • Experience with Dell hardware (desktops, laptops, printers), handheld scanners, barcode printers, and plotters.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL server. Understanding of database structure, stored procedures, and queries.
  • Basic troubleshooting knowledge for Windows Server, Cisco switches, access points, routers, APC UPS, LAN/WAN, and biometric devices.
  • Familiarity with IT service desk processes and service-level objectives.
  • Skilled in MS Project, Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication, relationship-building, and networking abilities; able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change, and meet project deliverables.
  • Knowledge of 5S principles and ability to conduct knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Ability to support plant automation, process improvement initiatives, and integration of IT and controls systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Optional experience with Active Directory administration, Bitlocker encryption, and mobile device support.
  • Experience with PLC & HMI equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide incident, problem, and request management through IT service management systems.
  • Procure, configure, deploy, and support end-user devices (laptops, desktops, workstations, mobile devices) and phone systems.
  • Support servers, networks (WAN/LAN), UPS, switches, backup environments, and third-party vendor systems.
  • Maintain on-site computer rooms, racks, cabling, and data rooms.
  • Manage vendor service activities, SLAs, and escalation processes.
  • Maintain IT asset registers and conduct physical audits; support refresh and retirement programs.
  • Plan and implement IT infrastructure changes, expansions, or renovations.
  • Execute patching plans, manage backup/restoration processes, and ensure critical equipment reliability.
  • Track time, report efforts, and manage vendor resources on-site and remotely.
  • Participate in audits, service-level reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, and training of end users.
  • Support advanced engineering projects to develop new or improved processes and plant automation systems.
