About The Position

The IT Security Engineer III installs, maintains, and coordinates secure Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) environments. This role analyzes information assurance-related issues, develops and implements security solutions, and enforces network security policies and standards. The position applies advanced technical expertise to resolve complex problems and support moderately complex network environments. Requirements

  • Approximately seven (7) or more years of experience in network security, information assurance, or related technical field.
  • Experience supporting moderately complex LAN/WAN environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform vulnerability assessments and risk analyses.
  • Experience enforcing security policies and managing network performance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems.
  • Familiarity with industry security frameworks and best practices.
  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or network engineering certifications may be required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to plan and accomplish goals with a high degree of independence.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field required;OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and coordinate secure LAN/WAN network environments.
  • Analyze information assurance-related technical problems and provide engineering support to resolve issues.
  • Design, develop, and implement solutions to meet network security requirements.
  • Perform vulnerability and risk analyses throughout the system development life cycle.
  • Evaluate hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment for security compliance and integration.
  • Enforce network security procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Install and manage network software and monitor network performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and security issues.
  • Implement and coordinate network policies and standards across supported environments.
  • Train users on network security procedures and best practices.
  • May provide functional leadership or direction on technical assignments.
