About The Position

Salomon is looking for a Retail IT Manager to support and enable the growth of our retail network in North America, with a primary focus on the United States. As part of the Digital Technologies department, this role will report to the Global IT Retail Manager, based in Annecy, France. The Retail IT Manager, NAM will be the key technology partner for the Retail NAM business team, acting as the main liaison between local retail stakeholders, Global Retail IT, the regional Infrastructure team, and local support partners. The role is critical in ensuring Salomon’s retail stores operate smoothly while supporting the rapid expansion of our direct-to-consumer business in the US. Salomon US is going through significant growth in its retail footprint. In this context, this role will be responsible for applying global IT standards and solutions already proven in EMEA, identifying required local adaptations, and ensuring their effective implementation and adoption across the NAM region. The overall scope of the role covers store infrastructure, IT applications, hardware, support, training, and business requirements gathering.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background with the ability to operate as a hands-on retail IT generalist.
  • Required experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in Retail and/or Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) environments.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix organization across global, regional, and local teams.
  • Experience supporting distributed store environments, including applications, infrastructure, hardware, and vendors.
  • Strong experience with POS systems, ideally Cegid.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Atlassian tools, and retail support environments.
  • Strong service mindset and business partnership approach.
  • Autonomous, proactive, and solution-oriented.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with senior leadership as well as operational store teams.
  • Ability to translate business needs into pragmatic technology solutions.
  • Strong coordination skills across multiple teams, partners, and projects.
  • Ability to balance global standards with local business realities.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the key Retail IT partner for NAM
  • Serve as the primary IT point of contact for the NAM Retail business team.
  • Liaise closely with Global Retail IT, the regional Infrastructure team, and local support partners.
  • Represent NAM retail needs within the broader Digital & IT organization, while ensuring alignment with global strategy, standards, and architecture.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between Retail Operations and technology teams.
  • Support retail expansion and new store openings
  • Lead the IT workstream for New Store Openings (NSO) and other store lifecycle projects, including refits, relocations, uplifts, and closures:
  • Anticipate business and technology requirements for new and existing stores.
  • Coordinate the deployment and installation of store systems, devices, and connectivity solutions.
  • Ensure stores open with the right infrastructure, applications, hardware, and support model in place.
  • Provide post-opening follow-up to stabilize operations and resolve issues quickly.
  • Ensure operational excellence across store technology
  • Own and coordinate the retail technology ecosystem used by stores, ensuring reliability, usability, and business continuity across the region.
  • Store infrastructure: network, connectivity, workspace, and core in-store technology setup.
  • IT applications: POS and other retail systems required to run store operations. Support store teams with key processes such as physical inventory, pricing updates, and store events
  • Hardware: device lifecycle management, stock coordination, and replacement planning.
  • Support: Level 2 support coordination, escalation handling, and service quality follow-up.
  • Training: support the creation and improvement of user documentation and training materials.
  • Requirements gathering: collect, structure, and relay business needs to global teams to support continuous improvement.
  • Key systems include: Cegid POS, Yoobic, Tamigo, AI Replenishment, iOS Retail App, Talon.One, SAP.
  • Manage vendors and store technology delivery
  • Manage local support and service desk partners supporting retail stores.
  • Coordinate third-party vendors involved in store technology delivery and operations.
  • Monitor service quality and enforce agreed service levels (SLAs).
  • Ensure effective execution of store technology projects in line with business timelines and global standards.
