Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IS, CIS, or Business Administration and at least 3 years of project management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in IT or business; P&C Insurance industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex projects from initiation through closure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Expert knowledge of Agile project methodologies and traditional Waterfall approach
  • Capable of developing detailed project plans, Gantt charts, managing scope, and adapting to change
  • Strong leadership presence with ability to influence and interface with senior business executives
  • Leadership and relationship building skills with the ability to lead a diverse project team to achieve common goals
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven relationship-building skills to lead cross-functional teams and foster collaboration
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a proactive and adaptable approach to challenges
  • Adept at risk assessment and creative in developing contingency plans.
  • Data-driven mindset to utilize project metrics and make informed decisions
  • Experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, and Jira
  • Demonstrated expertise in software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and a deep understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure
  • Experience with vendor relationship management

Nice To Haves

  • P&C Insurance industry experience preferred
  • Completed PMP, Agile, Scrum or other relevant project management certification highly desirable
  • Prior experience in a technical role (e.g., software development, etc.) desirable

Responsibilities

  • Managing and delivering multiple concurrent IT projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets
  • Developing comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management, using standard project management and Agile methodologies
  • Leading high performing project teams that are aligned with the project goals and objectives and that understand how the project relates to corporate strategic goals
  • Facilitating communication across departments and resolving roadblocks, ensuring everyone works toward common goals.
  • Providing strategic, big picture thinking, and thought leadership on projects to materially influence outcomes
  • Providing regular project updates and status reports to executive stakeholders, communicating risks, issues, and progress effectively
  • Proactively identifying and mitigating risks or issues that may impact project timelines or quality
  • Managing vendor relationships and ensuring deliverables meet contractual obligations and quality standards and participating in the development of contracts/SOWs
  • Ensuring compliance with the organization’s IT governance, SDLC System Development Life Cycle, and change management policies throughout the project lifecycle
  • Tracking and managing project budgets, ensuring financial control and adherence to project objectives
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the IT project management function
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key project stakeholders and acts as a trusted business advisor
