THE PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Information Technology Project Manager will plan, establish, and manage information technology (IT) projects and will serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned projects. This position will be primarily responsible for developing project plans including a charter, scope, work schedule and budget. This position will provide oversight and guidance to the project team and plan from project initiation through project close while utilizing a consistent structured project management methodology. This position must possess the ability to understand, evaluate and suggest improvements to business processes while collaborating with the business process owner. BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in computer or information science-related field required. Seven or more years of related experience required in IT and project management including budget monitoring along with knowledge in one or two functional areas (i.e., Operations, Finance, Order Management, Procurement, Engineering, Human Resources or Payroll) in support of a global region (i.e., Americas, EMA or Asia/Pacific.) Organized with attention to detail. Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including conflict resolution. Willing and able to quickly adapt to competing demands or a change in assigned priorities. Comfortable embracing and actively supporting change. Thorough understanding of project management principles and planning. Project Management certification preferred. Thorough understanding of common information technology procedures and practices. Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Projects or related software. Ability to motivate groups of people to complete a project on schedule. Experience in navigating organizational dynamics as well as working closely with business process owners. Awareness of the cultural diversity required by globally based process owners.
