About The Position

The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering cross-functional projects while establishing and formalizing project management processes across the organization. This role requires a highly process-driven individual who can operate effectively in an environment without existing project management standards and build scalable, repeatable frameworks to support future growth. The IT Project Manager will work closely with leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams to improve visibility, accountability, and delivery outcomes while ensuring projects align with organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager managing complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to build or formalize project management processes in organizations without established PM standards
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence across teams
  • 5–10 years of experience managing IT projects in a professional environment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
  • Must be able to work onsite at our corporate headquarters in Savannah, GA

Nice To Haves

  • Project management certifications (PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent) are a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, information technology, or a related field preferred.
  • IT Project Management experience in the retail or convenience store industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and deliver projects from initiation through completion, ensuring scope, schedule, and objectives are met
  • Define project requirements, timelines, milestones, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Identify, track, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and changes
  • Provide regular project status updates, reporting, and executive-level summaries
  • Drive accountability through clear ownership, task tracking, and milestone management
  • Design and implement foundational project management processes where none currently exist, including:
  • Project intake and prioritization
  • Standardized project planning and documentation
  • Status reporting and communication cadence
  • Risk, issue, and change management processes
  • Project closeout and post-implementation review
  • Develop and maintain project management templates, tools, and best practices
  • Establish a consistent project delivery framework while balancing agility and operational efficiency
  • Educate and guide teams on project management expectations, roles, and best practices
  • Act as a central point of coordination across departments for active initiatives
  • Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes based on organizational needs
