Summary The Project Manager is responsible for leveraging agile methodologies to lead a variety of IT and other projects supporting the university's mission and operational needs. This role will play a key role in leading widespread adoption of Agile methodologies. The Project Manager will work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. This position requires demonstrated experience in current project management methodologies, specifically Agile/Scrum. This person will manage a diverse range of projects, including (but not limited to): IT infrastructure implementations; software development, deployments, and integrations; and initiatives requiring coordination across multiple departments and stakeholders. A strong command of Microsoft Office 365 and other Microsoft applications is essential for success.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in a higher education environment.
  • Experience managing IT projects.
  • Solid understanding of Agile project management methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. Jira, ADO, MS Project).
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize effectively.
  • Demonstrated fluency in Microsoft Office 365 suite, including SharePoint, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience with  Azure DevOps .
  • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development, and data management principles.
  • Working knowledge of PowerBI (or equivalent tool) for dashboards and reporting.
  • Familiarity with higher education technology systems and processes (e.g., LMS, SIS).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
  • Agile certification (e.g., Scrum Master).
  • Artificial Intelligence Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and techniques to enhance project efficiency and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management Lead and facilitate full project lifecycle (utilizing Agile principles).
  • Contribute to the refinement of project management processes.
  • Project Type Diversity Manage a diverse range of projects, including (but not limited to): IT infrastructure implementations Software deployments and integrations Large-scale organizational initiatives requiring coordination across multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Risk Management Proactively identify & manage risks & issues; escalate as needed.
  • Maintain risk register with mitigation and action plans.
  • Engage stakeholders in active risk and issue management.
  • Stakeholder Management Effectively communicate project status to stakeholders at all levels, utilizing clear and concise reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across all departments (e.g., Academic Affairs, Admissions, Student Services, Finance).
  • Manage stakeholder expectations; ensure project goal alignment.
  • Independent Problem Solving & Prioritization Exercise independent judgment in making decisions related to tasks & timelines for projects of moderate complexity and priority.
  • Effectively prioritize own tasks and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Escalate complex or high-impact issues to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Manage to resolution.
  • Process Improvement & Agile Adoption Contribute to the development and refinement of project management processes and best practices including the use of Agile/Scrum.
  • Identify opportunities and propose actionable steps to improve project efficiency and effectiveness.
