Schedule : Full Time, 35 hours/week, at least three days working onsite Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the IT Project Manager is a leadership position within the Information Technology department responsible for managing cross-functional technology and strategic projects. The IT Project Manager will provide oversight of the methods, processes, and systems that support the delivery of project objectives within the IT department and across a variety of internal clients. The IT Project Manager will facilitate inter-departmental collaboration within SFMOMA, as well as support management of IT’s external software product vendors. This individual will be a champion for new technology adoption at SFMOMA and facilitate change management through internal communication and advocacy.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years Project Management experience in the information technology sector; medium to large-scale non-profit environment preferred.
  • Developed practical knowledge of project planning tools and techniques (PMI, Agile, etc.).
  • Technical proficiency with standard suite of applications (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as applications and platforms related to project management.
  • Capacity to quickly master new tools and platforms as technologies evolve.
  • Excellent oral and written communication with special attention to diplomacy and tact.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at different stages.
  • Creative problem resolution, both as individual and as a team member.
  • Attentive listener, able to communicate effectively with technical and business users, as well as client-facing.
  • Strong sense of ownership and strong work ethic.
  • Effective prioritization and problem-solving skills resulting in the ability to resolve conflict and overcome obstacles.
  • Synthesize complex or diverse information.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a track record of achievement.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP Certification desired.
  • Familiarity with both waterfall and Agile methodologies, common collaboration software tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project framework for complex, multi-stakeholder, interdepartmental initiatives including support of strategic initiatives, organizational compliance objectives, and capital technology projects.
  • Identify key opportunities and strategies for advancement of project management best practices within the department and align practices with project teams across the organization.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party IT vendors for the timely delivery of projects and intermediate deliverables.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks that may jeopardize project completion; escalate problems to management as needed.
  • Assign tasks to business stakeholders and follow up to make sure tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Facilitate collaborative development of project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans to track progress, report status to senior management as requested and escalate problems to management as needed.
  • Develop and distribute internal and external communication using a variety of channels to deliver key messaging and project updates to executive and key stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Create and maintain relevant IT enterprise project documentation.
  • Complete any additional tasks assigned by the C.T.O.
