We are seeking a IT Project Manager to join our Aviation Technology team in Los Angeles, CA. Position Summary: IT Project Manager for Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) Information Technology System Division (ITSD) PMO to support managing Workforce Management Information System (WMIS) for managing workforce for Power and Water groups. This would be a 12-month assignment, 20 hours per week with hybrid schedule to be on-site on as needed bases (LADWP personnel has hybrid schedule of being two-days on site). Strong background in managing implementation of IT systems related to workforce management of large scale/high profile projects for municipal departments. Strong communication skills with executive level management in addition to team and stakeholders' collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in implementing similar systems.
  • Expertise in project management (PMP), Agile Methodology, QA, system integration with GIS, ERP and other additional integration needs.
  • Ability to provide OCM and training support.
  • Familiarity with LADWP’s governance and compliance requirements.
  • Experience using Smartsheet, Jira, etc. for project management, planning, monitoring, and control.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the project activities, create documentation outlined in IT PMO Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) and implement lessons learned
  • Execute and monitor project activities with the appropriate areas
  • Initiate the Project Management Process and develop key objectives
  • Utilize IT PMO processes to manage project scope, schedule, resources and cost; obtain approval
  • Leveraging existing initiatives, plan and oversee a Proof of Concept (PoC), if required, and obtain the final approval from the management
  • Regularly update project plans and status reports with the project team
  • Identify and communicate with key project stakeholders and develop a Project Charter
  • Conduct regular project team meetings
  • Report to and receive direction/feedback from leadership
  • Participate in project performance review meetings and discussions
  • Identify existing contracts, establish new contracts (if required) and control contract terms and expenditures
  • Manage project team
  • Coordinate priorities and resources between multiple tasks
