About The Position

The IT PMO provides centralized governance, oversight, and strategic alignment for all IT projects at ProPetro. This role ensures projects deliver measurable business value, adhere to organizational standards, and optimize resources, timelines, and costs. Serving as the hub for project governance, portfolio visibility, and financial control, the IT PMO supports both Agile and traditional delivery methodologies while enabling digital transformation and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT project management, PMO leadership, or portfolio management, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Demonstrated success in project governance, resource management, and financial control.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and traditional project management methodologies.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills: can prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Monday.com, Microsoft Office 365).
  • Highly proactive, self-motivated, and capable of managing competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail oriented, process driven, and committed to continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as PMP, PMO-CP, or PgMP are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain, and enforce project management standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks for IT initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and organizational requirements
  • Manage the IT project portfolio to ensure alignment with business objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Track consultant and developer hours using standardized tools; monitor burn rates, actual vs. forecasted costs, and prevent budget overruns.
  • Validate vendor invoices against approved timesheets, deliverables, and contract terms.
  • Optimize resource allocation and provide capacity planning across IT projects.
  • Generate dashboards and reports for project progress, financial health, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support Agile teams with lightweight governance, portfolio visibility, and cross-team coordination.
  • Manage the maintenance and administration of Enterprise Applications and systems.
  • Facilitate risk management, change control, and stakeholder communication.
  • Onboard new project managers to PMO processes, tools, and expectations.
  • Provide coaching, training, and ongoing support to promote consistent project delivery practices.
  • Champion continuous improvement of PMO processes, templates, and tools.
  • Develop and implement standard processes for cost, resource, schedule, and risk management.
  • Produce accurate and timely project reports, ensuring effective communication of status updates.
  • Coordinate mandatory reviews, audits, and ensure lessons learned are captured and actioned.
  • Support digital transformation, cloud migration, cybersecurity, and other strategic IT initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the Strategy PMO Manager to ensure alignment with organizational goals and successful project execution.
  • Foster strong relationships with business leaders, technical teams, and external partners.
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
