Requirements

  • Programming experience in a professional setting
  • Must have good problem solving skills.
  • Must have good math skills.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Must work well with others.
  • Must have good communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and have a high tolerance for stressful situations.
  • Must have strong understanding of business systems.
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, MIS or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the following: Visual Basic, Progress, Windows XP/7, Lotus Notes.
  • Experience leading to knowledge of manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with wireless devices (scanners, printers, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes customer’s needs for automated information.
  • Writes code to meet customer’s needs.
  • Provides direction to outside programmers / software suppliers.
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Participates in evaluation of new ‘business’ related software.
  • Manages upgrades to existing software programs.
  • Maintains an acceptable attendance record.
  • Participates in resolution of computer system problems (hardware or software) as the need arises.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Participates in department meetings.
  • Completes documentation of activities as required.
  • Submits cost reduction and innovation ideas.
