About The Position

The IT Program PLC Superintendent is responsible for accountable for the IT Infrastructure, PLC’s robotics, scales, labelers, servers, and IT Dept. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and oversee all the IT functions for the site Compliance with all federal, state, local and internal requirements from design through operation and maintenance of the plant. Ensure employees are aware of the requirements and their responsibility Oversee facility computer program upgrades and collaborate with all departments to ensure best practices are always being followed Work closely with cross functional teams (ops / QA / Engineering) to ensure facility needs are being met (temps / air flows / utilities etc) Maintain all IT infrastructure, departments, and equipment. Ensure equipment is performing to high standards and in a safe manner at all times Provide technical guidance, direction, and develop specs for the IT team Ensure proper training for all refrigeration personnel Maintain a team that is cross-functional and trained in different areas of IT to ensure crewing changes do not impact the facility Establish and implement preventative maintenance programs and procedures for the IT dept Requisition tools / equipment and supplies as needed (ensure critical spares are in stock at all times) Promote and drive succession development with areas of responsibility NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 5 years of experience managing IT dept (PLC programming)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience supervising, planning, and scheduling a maintenance crew
  • Read, write, and orally communicate in English and ability to work with no or little supervision
  • Proficiency in PLC electronic theory and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and use blueprints, schematics and other diagrams
  • Ability to work on a team and communicate well with others
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to perform work with minimal direction
  • Time management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in area of specialty is a plus
  • BS in computer science or in area of specialty preferred
  • Previous IT experience in a slaughter meat facility
  • Bilingual English / Spanish
