The Opportunity: Abbott is hiring an IT Program Manager – OCM (BTS-IS) in Lake County. The incumbent will be responsible for the planning, execution, and management of IT projects within the defined scope. Manage and coordinate a multitude of IT Infrastructure project activities within the constraints of human, schedule, and financial resources, adjusting to changing priorities as needed to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 6-10 yrs. experience in managing OCM projects working on an enterprise and/or global scale.
  • Expertise in Organizational Change Management with an ability to work on all aspects of Change methodology.
  • Strong ability to lead projects that could include various types of technologies including OCM & working with infrastructure teams (IS).

  • Strong analytical skills, including demonstrated proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. PowerBI a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end Organizational Change Management activities for all assigned Infrastructure projects, including stakeholder assessment, communication planning, training strategy, and adoption measurement.
  • Develop and execute OCM deliverables such as stakeholder maps, impact assessments, change readiness assessments, communication decks, training materials, and reinforcement plans.
  • Assess organizational impacts of technology and infrastructure changes, identifying affected groups and tailoring change approaches to drive readiness and minimize disruption.
  • Collaborate with business and IT leaders to define change strategies that align with project objectives and support enterprise‑wide transformation goals.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and alignment sessions, ensuring that leadership is informed, supportive, and empowered to remove barriers to adoption.
  • Build and manage communication strategies that clearly articulate the “why,” “what,” and “how” of the change to impacted groups.
  • Partner closely with infrastructure teams to translate technical updates into business‑focused messaging that resonates with end users.
  • Track and report change readiness and adoption metrics, escalating risks early and recommending targeted interventions for impacted stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement of OCM processes, sharing lessons learned and contributing to the maturity of the organization’s change capability.
  • Serve as the OCM advocate within Infrastructure promoting awareness of change principles and ensuring OCM is embedded into project methodology.
