Position Summary: The IT Project Manager – Engineering Systems is a crucial role reporting directly to the IT Director, Engineering Systems. This position focuses on managing the engineering applications projects portfolio, strategy and supporting the oversight of the entire application portfolio. The IT Project Manager plays a key part in executing PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) initiatives, optimizing engineering workflows, and ensuring IT capabilities are aligned with business objectives. The successful candidate will have extensive expertise in project management, PLM systems, engineering processes, and cross-functional leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT related background, with a focus on engineering applications and specifically with the PTC Windchill PLM system
  • At least 5 years in project management
  • Proven experience in application portfolio management, strategy development, and project management
  • Strong understanding of product development, lifecycle, change and configuration management
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and enterprise architecture is advantageous
  • Project Management certification a plus
  • Leadership experience a plus
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: The IT Project Manager will co-lead and manage transformation projects related to engineering applications. Responsibilities include defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders. This role ensures that all projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet established quality standards.
  • Portfolio Management: Acting as both a strategic advisor and operational partner to the Director of Engineering Systems, the IT Project Manager oversees the entire engineering applications portfolio. This involves keeping applications up-to-date, secure, and optimized. The role covers the full lifecycle of applications, including planning, implementation, maintenance, and retirement. Regular portfolio reviews are conducted to assess performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: The IT Project Manager is responsible for implementing best practices for application management and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, IT, and business stakeholders is essential to ensure that PLM solutions meet evolving needs. The role includes driving initiatives to enhance application performance, reliability, and user satisfaction.
  • Additional responsibilities include developing and maintaining documentation, roadmaps, and KPIs for PLM and engineering systems, as well as leading digital transformation initiatives across engineering systems and data governance.
