A Day in the Life Medtronic MiniMed is embarking on an exciting Greenfield implementation of SAP S4 ERP (RISE). This is a strategic and time-sensitive global program, covering the Americas, EMEA, LATAM, and Asia over a several year period. The SAP Implementation Lead is responsible for overseeing and driving the successful planning, execution, and delivery of MiniMed’s Greenfield SAP S4 ERP within the organization. This role will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, ensure alignment with business objectives, and serve as the primary point of contact between stakeholders and the SAP implementation team. This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience and 7+ years of managerial experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in SAP implementation, with at least 2 years in a lead or project management role.
  • Strong understanding of SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, HCM) and business processes.
  • Experience with project management methodologies specifically including Activate methodology (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering SAP projects on time and within budget.
  • SAP certification(s) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end SAP implementation projects, including planning, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
  • Collaborate with business and functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into SAP solutions, with a focus on using standard “Clean Core” Business Processes.
  • Lead SI partners to develop and maintain detailed project plans, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
  • Manage and mentor SAP project team members, including internal staff and external consultants.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT, and SI vendors.
  • Ensure SAP solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with company policies and industry best practices.
  • Oversee change management, training, and communication efforts to drive user adoption.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and present updates to senior leadership.
