About The Position

“Run and Protect” all IT services at the site, including data centers, network equipment, servers, PCs, mobile devices, and applications. These devices include UPS, Power Distribution Units, fire alarm systems, Cisco switches/routers, load balancers, access points, locate sensors, Windows/Linux servers, ESX servers, Windows/Mac OS devices, DXDs, Process Control Boards, Cisco IP/iphone/android phones along with off the shelf, Ford, and some local applications. Support plant floor equipment throughout the facility (plant floor, overhead conveyors, in steel). Support a multi-shift operation in a manufacturing plant. Ensure parties understand timing/impact. Support major business and IT initiatives such as New Model Program launches, hardware/infrastructure/application upgrades, facility changes, IIOT and end user productivity launches. Develop plans to meet critical timing, rollout/rollback/contingency plans and minimize any impact to production. Build and maintain strong relationships with site business partners, acting as the “face of IT” Contribute to site's Operating Committee efforts, as appropriate Develop and test Disaster Recovery plans. Manage development of self and team, including technical, leadership skill development and goal setting, and building team succession plans Participate in cyber security initiatives including remediation of cyber issues Established and active employee resource groups Wireless networks and ability to assist in troubleshooting WiFi/Bluetooth issues. Plant networks: OA, MPN and CPN. ACLs and PLCs. Virus protection software: Symantec, FireEye, and Data Center Security Sharepoint to manage and assist plant with sites and to ensure security compliance. Escalate issues as appropriate to global support teams and provide on-site support to those teams as required. During issues provide the teams with plant impact assessments and assist in driving the issue to resolution. This requires the Plant IT manager to have some knowledge of production applications utilized in the plant. Balance business needs, such as 24x7 operations, with IT priorities, such as deployment of critical patches A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. A strong desire to learn manufacturing operations and business practices from an IT perspective is required. Broad business and manufacturing perspective is helpful. Understanding of computer-based tools, computing infrastructure and interest in processes that support manufacturing is core. A willingness to work in a high-pressure production environment and flexible working shift is a foundation in this space. A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to multi-task; managing multiple tasks Work efficiently and effectively with diverse, cross functional teams under stressful circumstances Ability to communicate effectively with business users and IT professionals including globally distributed teams. Ability to drive to root cause and work to develop monitoring/preventative measures Ability to quickly learn new technologies and applications and adjust to business needs People Leadership - Mentoring, advising, work assignments The ability to adjust communications appropriately for the audience, work with all levels of management and diverse work groups, including globally distributed teams.
