About The Position

As the IT Operations Lead at Sardine, you’ll own the systems that keep a global, remote-first team productive and secure. You’ll be responsible for everything from device management and access controls to cloud tooling and day-to-day support — balancing long-term infrastructure decisions with hands-on execution. This role sits at the intersection of IT, Security, People, and Engineering. You’ll be a trusted partner across the company, helping us scale safely, move quickly, and deliver a seamless employee experience as we grow.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or technical support in a fast-moving environment (startup or high-growth experience is a plus).
  • Comfort supporting macOS environments, networking basics, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience administering Google Workspace and deep familiarity with MDM workflows.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A self-starter who can prioritize a diverse workload and manage the IT roadmap independently.

Nice To Haves

  • System Administration: Hands-on experience with JAMF, BetterCloud, 1Password, and GitHub.
  • Collaboration & Productivity: Proficiency in managing enterprise environments for Slack, Asana, Chrome, and Microsoft Office.
  • Cloud & HRIS: Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and HRIS automation tools like Rippling.

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and improve core IT systems, including Google Workspace, device management (JAMF), and GCP cloud infrastructure.
  • Partner with People and Talent on onboarding and offboarding, hardware provisioning, and access management for a growing, global team.
  • Manage tools like VPN, password management, and endpoint security; ensure systems are patched, monitored, and compliant with internal security standards.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for IT issues, supporting teammates via Slack, email, and video.
  • Maintain accurate hardware and software inventories and help administer our collaboration stack (e.g., Slack, GitHub, Asana).
  • Keep systems documentation up to date and share regular updates on system health, risks, and improvements.
