About The Position

The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the position as necessary. Configures, programs, and troubleshoots PLCs/RTUs (Emerson, Missions Communications or similar). Develops and maintains device-level integrations using OPC UA, Modbus TCP/RTU, MQTT, and DNP3. Deploys and manages edge adapters/edge gateways to securely connect OT devices with IT/enterprise systems. Implements data acquisition strategies for SCADA/HMI systems, flow meters, pump stations, and remote monitoring units. Designs and implements integration solutions that bridge OT and IT environments securely and efficiently. Ensures data integrity and fidelity when translating information between industrial devices and enterprise applications. Makes changes to SCADA systems in support of ad hoc requests and projects. Monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots SCADA/HMI platforms and ensures operational continuity. Documents all modifications to the operational environment clearly and thoroughly. Problem solves and offers technical support. Diagnoses and resolves complex integration issues that require both OT and IT knowledge. Responds to system failures in production environments with appropriate urgency and methodology. Communicates technical issues and resolutions effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to modernize OT systems and integration practices. Explores and implements dev/ops, git/ops practices for managing PLC codebases and configurations. Supports team members with training and knowledge sharing on industrial systems and protocols. Assists with project planning and estimation for integration initiatives. Contributes to the evaluation and selection of new technologies and platforms. Contributes various projects and responsibilities as needed in a collaborative team environment. Attends conferences, meetings, training, seminars, etc., as necessary to maintain and enhance job knowledge and skills. Management may assign additional duties as trained for and qualified to do so related to the work of the position as necessary.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, special courses, or self-education that is equivalent to the satisfactory completion of specialized advanced training in Information Systems, Operational Technology or a closely related field.
  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in operational technology environments using and configuring SCADA systems.
  • Strong experience with PLC and RTU programming/configuration, particularly Emerson, Missions communications and Wonderware.
  • Requires proficiency with IEC-61131-3 programming languages (ladder logic, function block diagrams, structured text, instruction lists, sequential function charts).
