About The Position

The IT Manager is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and management of technology systems and infrastructure at Virginia Guesthouse hotel and conference center. This includes oversight of network operations, property systems (PMS, POS, guest Wi-Fi, etc.), and cybersecurity, as well as hands-on A/V support and technology sales for group functions and events. The IT Manager will act as the key technology liaison between hotel departments, external vendors and PGH (Pyramid Global Hospitality) corporate IT team to ensure smooth, secure, and efficient operation of all systems that impact the guest and employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with property goals.
  • Lead the design, maintenance, and continual improvement of the hotel’s IT infrastructure including servers, networks, databases, and telecommunications.
  • Ensure systems are operational 24/7 through preventative maintenance, monitoring, and vendor coordination.
  • Identify, evaluate, and deploy new technologies that enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure the security, integrity, and confidentiality of all hotel data and systems in compliance with data privacy laws.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for A/V needs for meetings, events, and group functions.
  • Attend regularly scheduled BEO and resume meetings to support the planned events and coordinate any details to outside resources as needed.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Events teams to recommend, quote, and deliver appropriate technology and A/V solutions.
  • Set up and operate A/V equipment, troubleshoot issues during events, and ensure all technological needs are met with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Maintain and inventory all A/V equipment and provide hands-on support for live presentations, hybrid meetings, and multimedia experiences.
  • Provide responsive, hands-on support to hotel staff and guests, ensuring all users have access to functional systems and necessary training.
  • Establish and enforce service standards, ensuring timely issue resolution and a customer-first approach.
  • Train and empower team members to use property systems effectively.
  • Manage IT-related contracts, vendors, and service level agreements to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor IT expenses and maintain budget oversight and recommend capital improvement projects and manage implementation.
