We're looking for a talented IT Lab Manager to join our team in Washington, DC . This position will support a complex government client and will require planning, operation, and maintenance of IT laboratories and test environments, ensuring lab systems are secure, reliable, and available to support training, research, development, and testing activities while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and standards. Work Location: Onsite – Work from office location in Washington, DC Clearance: Must be US citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust / Secret / Top-Secret security clearance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience managing IT lab environments or technical infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and/or macOS environments
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (LAN/WAN, VLANs, DNS, DHCP)
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting government enterprise environments, training, or R&D lab environments
  • Knowledge of cloud-based lab environments or hybrid labs
  • Experience with endpoint management tools (SCCM, Intune, Jamf)
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity, engineering, or software development labs

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of IT labs, including hardware, software, and network resources
  • Ensure lab environments are configured, maintained, and available for instructional, testing, or development use
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, networking equipment, and peripherals
  • Manage lab scheduling, access controls, and user permissions
  • Maintain system images, software licensing, and configuration baselines
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in lab environments
  • Implement and enforce security controls, acceptable use policies, and data protection standards
  • Coordinate upgrades, patches, and refresh cycles for lab equipment
  • Develop and maintain lab documentation, procedures, and inventory records
  • Provide technical support and guidance to instructors, students, researchers, or development teams
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate repairs or replacements
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and audit requirements
