If so, General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an exciting career opportunity for you as a Sr. Systems Admin Specialist for the Information Technology - Limited Access Area (LAA) Team as part of Engineering Support Services. As an IT - Limited Access Area Sr. Systems Admin Specialist (Sr Sys Admin Spec 3), you’ll serve as a front-line interface to users with technical issues by conducting systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • You may also bring equivalent relevant experience and certifications.
  • CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Applicant must meet DoD 8570.1 certification requirements for IAT-II or higher.
  • You must complete CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent within 6 months of hire.
  • Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other networking concepts.
  • Basic network design and troubleshooting on small local LANs.
  • Solid knowledge of Windows/Linux clients and server systems.
  • Familiarity with Windows Active Directory Domains and implementing domain GPO policies.
  • Solid knowledge in building and imaging Windows 11 workstations.
  • Solid knowledge in antivirus, operating system, and software patching with tools such as PDQ Deploy, PDQ Inventory.
  • Solid knowledge in backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies including LTO tape libraries.
  • Solid knowledge in tokens / certificates. (RSA / YubiKey)
  • Solid knowledge in troubleshooting and modifying hardware (servers, PC's, peripherals, and printers).
  • Familiarity with compliance controls: STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides), RMF (Risk Management Framework), DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement), NIST 800-171/53, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)
  • Working knowledge in implementing Windows and Linux security controls to maintain system compliance (NIST 800-171/53, STIG/CIS Benchmarks).
  • Working knowledge of vulnerability scanning and log analysis.

  • Familiarity with government property tracking of hardware and software inventory.
  • Familiarity with engineering and CAD modeling software a plus. (MathWorks, CREO, GeoMagic, LabView, etc.)
