ECS is seeking an IT Intern to work in Pocatello, ID. We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in high-level IT infrastructure engineering and maintenance. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the leading VMware, Windows, Linux, and cybersecurity experts in Southeast Idaho. This internship will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of engineering, installing, configuring, and maintaining a full enterprise production environment. You will incorporate cybersecurity principles throughout, equipping you with the confidence to create secure systems in the future. The goal is to provide the necessary skills to prepare you for an entry-level IT position. Promising interns will be sponsored for a Top-Secret security clearance at the conclusion of the internship! The candidate must be able to work onsite from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday-Friday (20 hours per week) at the ECS Facility in Chubbuck, ID. Internship focus areas: VMware administration fundamentals: Understand virtualization concepts. Design virtual infrastructure in our laboratory environment. Troubleshoot issues that may arise during deployment. Configure VMware solutions such as vSAN, Horizon, and vSphere in a cluster. Windows Server administration fundamentals: Gain practical experience in implementing and securing Windows-based infrastructure deployments and learn about the overall architecture present in real-world IT environments. Manage and maintain Windows Server environments using Windows GUIs and PowerShell. Implement and configure: Distributed File System (DFS) Active Directory Group Policy DNS DHCP Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration fundamentals: Manage users and groups. Configure Identity, Policy, and Audit (IPA). Create custom baseline images. Automate tasks using Ansible. Exposure to security concepts such as Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux). Cybersecurity fundamentals: Implement required security measures in VMware, Windows, and Linux environments. Create a layered defense to provide system security. Apply the cybersecurity fundamentals and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) processes you will encounter across the federal government and private sector.
