About The Position

This paid internship provides an opportunity to train closely with experienced IT professionals and gain hands-on experience in IT systems and Cloud infrastructure operations. The Intern role will assist with building servers, installing software, configuring and maintaining system devices, and providing technical support to peers and hospital staff. The role also includes supporting cybersecurity activities, validating and documenting processes and procedures, and participating in training and professional development opportunities. The internship provides valuable exposure by shadowing IT professionals and learning best practices in a real-world healthcare environment. The intern must be able to speak and read English at a level sufficient to perform essential functions, and possess knowledge of personal computer and computer software skills (e.g., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail). The role involves performing other duties as assigned, following Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards, and carrying out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a 2-year college with a Computer Science related major
  • Basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Understanding computer components and network concepts
