TDS Telecom has a great opportunity for an IT Intern – Order Operations. If you are a hardworking and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment, this internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT operations and business process analysis. This remote role offers scheduling flexibility, with a minimum of 25 hours per week during core business hours of 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Central (35-40 hours preferred as your schedule allows). The duration of this internship is expected to be year-round. The hourly rate for this position is expected to be $17/hour. This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates. Intern Resources: As an intern at TDS, you'll have the opportunity to partner with seasoned professionals on high-priority company projects and day-to-day operations. Our ARG meets monthly, where you can hear about other interns’ projects and engage with leaders from various teams. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, accounting, computer science, quality assurance, or a related field
  • Ability to work a minimum of 25 hours per week Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM CST
  • Strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM or similar order-management systems
  • Interest in process improvement, operations, or workflow analysis

Responsibilities

  • As an IT Intern - Order Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring customer orders are completed quickly and correctly.
  • In this role, you will review daily reports of aging or at-risk orders, investigate those that require attention, and work with process owners and partner teams to move them forward.
  • You will document your findings, summarize trends, identify recurring issues, and help propose enhancements to improve automated order flow.
  • This position directly supports timely customer service delivery and offers a valuable learning environment for interns interested in operations, business systems, or IT workflows.
  • Exceptional interns may be considered for future opportunities, though full-time employment is not guaranteed.
  • This role requires you to be conscientious and proactive in resolving issues.
  • You will work with multiple IT teams as well as sales and business support professionals, and will communicate in a variety of styles and contexts.
  • The role requires a customer-oriented mindset and good time management.
