This individual will serve a key function in researching, documenting, and implementing emerging technology and tools. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience working with a dynamic team on Information Technology Projects for an engineering consulting firm.

Requirements

  • Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or related field;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Ability to provide an outstanding work product with strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to proactively organize, prioritize, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and dependable.

Nice To Haves

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred;
  • Interest in the exploration and implementation of technology in engineering projects;

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and tools and document findings and recommendations for potential implementation;
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within the company;
  • Assist in various capacities with the development and implementation of new tools;
  • Manage relationships with hardware and software vendors to ensure effective vetting and selection of new technology for the firm;
  • Create Proofs of Concept (POCs) using apps like Glide, Lovable, SharePoint, Power Automate, or similar tools based on user feedback and ideas;
  • Visit construction sites with staff to understand their needs and identify opportunities for automation and AI assistance; and
  • Perform other duties as requested.
