About The Position
Daifuku North America, a group company of Daifuku in Japan - the largest material handling company in the world. Our advanced systems move everything from car bodies at auto plants to luggage at airports to packaged goods at warehouses. We are known as experts in engineering, manufacturing, and servicing innovative automated materials handling systems including conveyors, automatic guided vehicles, automated storage & retrieval systems, and integrated controls. The company is currently seeking an IT Co-Op/Intern. Are you looking for an Information Technology internship that will give you valuable hands-on experience? Our Co-op/ Internship program at Daifuku will combine your education with practical experience on the job. Requirements
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with focus on teamwork
- Strong organizational skills and written communication skills
- Availability to work 24-40 hours per week between the hours of 8am-5pm, Mon-Friday, ongoing (not seasonal)
- Self-managed, hard-working, great attitude, ready to learn
- Actively enrolled in and pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
- Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and basic trouble shooting for current operations
- Investigate, gather and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks
- Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas
- Implement new manufacturing processes and technology
- Contribute to the success of the team by taking on additional responsibilities and completing tasks as assigned
