About the position

Historic New England seeks applicants to join its growing in-house technology team. Successful candidates will have the right combination of technical skills, problem-solving ability, and strong customer services skills to provide efficient remote support to front-line staff at our historic sites and regional offices throughout the region. This is a part-time position, and will include regularly scheduled weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Provides help desk coverage during scheduled shifts.
  • Responds to help desk calls and tickets, using telephone and screen sharing to provide real time remote support to end users throughout the organization.
  • Periodically reviews outstanding tickets and identifies and escalates systemic issues for longer-term review and resolution.
  • Maintains familiarity with key business applications.
  • Assists with system deployment and administration tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent technology skills and the ability to learn new systems and applications quickly.
  • Strong customer service focus and excellent problem-solving and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide technology training and support to users of varying skill levels.
  • At least one year of related experience.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent education).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation.
  • Strong belief in, and demonstrated commitment to, Historic New England’s mission and values.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous work in a customer service focused environment.
  • Previous experience managing user accounts and supporting users in a Windows-based computing environment.
  • Familiarity with basic principles of TCP/IP computer networking.
  • Experience with database-driven business systems.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity, Asana, AzureAD, Cisco Meraki, Citrix, Dropbox, Filemaker, Linux/Apache/Mysql/PHP (LAMP) web applications, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), MySQL, Remote Desktop, ResourceSpace, Spiceworks, SQL Server, Tessitura CRM, Wordpress, Zoom.
