About The Position

The Temporary IT Generalist plays a key role in supporting the setup, configuration, and successful go‑live of a new hospital facility. This position assists with deploying hardware, configuring workstations and devices, validating user access, and providing direct hands-on support to clinical and administrative staff during facility build-out and activation. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment where professionalism, reliability, and patient privacy are essential.

Requirements

  • General IT support skills, including desktop support or help desk experience
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, basic networking, and common peripherals
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and healthcare IT procedures
  • Professional demeanor appropriate for clinical environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical setup of equipment
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Coursework or certification in information technology preferred
  • Experience: Prior IT support experience required (desktop support, help desk, or IT technician role)
  • Experience supporting hospital or clinical IT environments preferred

Nice To Haves

  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facility Setup & Deployment Assist with IT setup for a new hospital facility, including configuration and installation of: – Workstations, laptops, printers, and peripherals – Mobile carts, thin clients, and shared clinical devices – Network-connected equipment in clinical and administrative areas
  • Perform workstation imaging, software configuration, and hardware deployment
  • Assist with user account setup, device enrollment, and access validation
  • Coordinate installation activities with IT teams, Facilities, vendors, and clinical staff
  • Support equipment and system testing to ensure readiness prior to go‑live User Support & Operations
  • Provide on-site, at-the-elbow technical support for clinical and administrative users
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, printing, and connectivity issues
  • Respond promptly and professionally to IT support requests
  • Document issues, resolutions, and equipment assignments as required
  • Escalate advanced or complex issues to senior IT staff or specialized support teams Compliance & Professional Standards
  • Adhere to HIPAA, privacy, and security requirements at all times
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information
  • Follow hospital safety, infection control, and access procedures
  • Wear proper identification and follow escort requirements while in restricted areas
