About The Position

AES Drilling Fluids is seeking an IT Field Technician to join their team in Midland, TX. This role requires a self-starter and problem solver who can service drilling rigs in the Permian region, which involves significant travel and demanding hours, including overtime and weekends. The hourly starting pay is dependent on experience, plus overtime and bonuses. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one (1) year of Computer and/or Satellite experience in the field relevant to the position.
  • Valid driver’s license and the maintenance of a driving record satisfactory to AES.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, be on call and work weekends if needed.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background physical fitness test and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Satellite installer certifications or any entry level IT certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery, set up, and care of computer and satellite equipment in the field and for maintaining an inventory of such equipment and posting regular updates, including accurate and orderly records of all distribution of equipment, returns and credits.
  • Maintain satellite communications and proper operation of network hardware and software on assigned AES locations.
  • Configure, test, inspect, monitor, and troubleshoot end user equipment, hardware, software, and field systems.
  • Work independently on projects and follow through until completion.
  • Required to participate in a rotating On-Call schedule, including any afterhours on-site service calls as needed.
  • Liaise with, and provide training and support to, end users and staff regarding equipment operation and other issues.
  • Effectively communicate relevant project information and status updates to the IT Field Supervisor and other AES management, as requested.
  • Conduct special projects as assigned and all other duties as assigned by the IT Field Supervisor and AES management.
