What you will be doing: Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes. Investigate problem areas and follow the software development lifecycle. Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, and solution development. Lead the preparation and installation of solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming. Review upcoming project deadlines and plan work activities around those dates and other obligations throughout an average shift. Test and troubleshoot defects in coding and collaborate with fellow software engineering employees on complex tasks. Execute the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including developing flowcharts, layouts, and documentation. Write well-designed, testable code and produce specifications to determine operational feasibility. Integrate software components into a fully functional software system and develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures. Document and maintain software functionality, troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems. Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback while complying with project plans and industry standards. Ensure software is updated with the latest features and improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes. Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment. Accomplish engineering and organization missions by completing related results as needed. Support and develop software engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.
