The IT Director is a hands-on technical leader responsible for managing the full technology environment. This role blends strategy, day‑to‑day support, systems administration, vendor coordination, and project management. The ideal candidate is resourceful, self‑directed, and comfortable switching between tactical tasks and strategic planning as the company scales. The IT Director must be comfortable operating as a one ‑ person team initially in our Englewood office, while also collaborating closely with our partners in France. Strong, cross ‑ cultural awareness and the ability to work and communicate effectively in an international environment are essential. The IT Director will serve as the primary point of contact for all things IT and may need to provide initial troubleshooting and guidance for IT issues, will manage hardware and software provisioning, assist with device setup and manage replacement and repairs. The IT Director will guide the implementation and support core systems such as Microsoft 365, collaboration tools and security and may need to configure and maintain network equipment (in partnership with vendors as needed). They will oversee backups, monitoring, patching and oversee general system health. The IT Director will be key in identifying and implementing practical, right-sized security controls, managing user access, MFA, device compliance and data protection practices. They will also coordinate incident response and maintain basic security documentation. The IT Director will be key in identifying and managing the process to obtain the necessary certifications and compliance levels that are critical for the Space and Defense industry in the United States. This may include CMMC, AS9100, ITAR, and EAR, among others. The IT Director will lead the design and execution of data security and privacy controls, ensuring compliance with required regulations such as GPP, GDPR, CCPA, and all PII protection standards. The IT Director will act as the primary liaison with software providers and hardware vendors. They will evaluate tools and negotiate contracts balancing cost, scalability and business needs as well as overseeing the onboarding and offboarding processes and ensuring systems remain aligned with company growth The IT Director may lead IT projects such as the selection and implementation of new software or tools (e.g., HRIS, ERP, CRM) and be responsible for system upgrades. They will need to document processes, create standards and evolve governance as needed as well as identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve the employee technology experience.
