The IT Business Insurance division of Cincinnati Insurance is seeking an experienced C# developer to join one of its development teams. This team is responsible for a mission-critical solution used both internally and externally for policy management. Our solution includes: a Smart Client (WinForms application) SOAP and REST web services a SQL Server backend integration with third-party service providers Note: While web development experience is beneficial for supporting related sites, this role does not require front-end web development skills. The emphasis is on designing and implementing SOAP and REST services, not building web UIs.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of solid and consistent .NET/C# development experience
- working knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts (e.g., interfaces, abstract classes, virtual methods, base classes)
- familiarity with development patterns and design best practices
- experience with WinForms development
- proficiency in developing Microsoft SQL Server stored procedures, indexes, and functions
- experience with XML technologies, including XSLT and XPath
- at least 5 years of hands-on experience in C# and Microsoft SQL Server development
Responsibilities
- contribute across all tiers of the application, with a primary focus on WinForms client, middle-tier, and backend development
- design, development, unit testing, and maintenance of the software
- improve the application and extend its integration with other systems, which may involve code changes to web services, server APIs, the database, and third-party interface technologies
- work closely with other developers and technical leads to implement new functionality and resolve defects
