About The Position

A growing IT services organization is seeking an IT Consultant to support its managed services practice. This role is designed for a highly experienced IT professional who serves as a technical escalation point and leads complex client-facing initiatives across a diverse environment. Role Overview IT Consultant provides hands-on technical consulting and advanced IT support for a portfolio of managed services clients. This position operates independently at client sites while collaborating closely with internal teams. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong project ownership, and excellent client-facing skills.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in IT support or systems engineering
  • 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Prior experience in a senior, lead, or escalation role strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently in client environments and manage multiple priorities
  • Clean background and driving record; reliable personal transportation required
  • VMware and Hyper-V
  • Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Active Directory
  • PowerShell scripting for automation (required)
  • AWS and Azure cloud platforms
  • Network security and firewall configurations (experience with Unifi or pfSense a plus)
  • Linux systems administration
  • Microsoft Teams Rooms configuration
  • Managed services tools such as PSA, remote support, and documentation platforms

Nice To Haves

  • Managed Services Provider (MSP) experience a plus
  • Relevant technical certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site and remote technical consulting and advanced IT support for managed services clients
  • Serve as a senior escalation resource for complex technical issues and projects
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across servers, networks, cloud platforms, and end-user systems
  • Implement, manage, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure including hardware, software, and network environments
  • Lead technical projects and guide junior engineers as needed
  • Monitor system performance and ensure reliability, security, and scalability
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify client needs and recommend improvements
  • Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and professional service delivery
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices
