About The Position

The IT/Communications Systems Engineer & Architect (Senior) provides technical leadership and systems engineering support for Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) ISR-PED network and communications infrastructure. This role supports the delivery of actionable intelligence by ensuring the reliability, security, configuration management, and modernization of ISR-related networks, data systems, and communications architectures across AFSOC intelligence organizations. The successful candidate will serve as a senior technical resource supporting NIPR/SIPR environments, geospatial data distribution systems, FMV network architecture, configuration management, information assurance, and workflow automation in support of AFSOC and USSOCOM ISR requirements.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on technology management and systems engineering experience within the past 12 years.
  • Demonstrated understanding of senior-level IT/communications systems engineering and architecture responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting secure government network environments (NIPR/SIPR or equivalent).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 8 additional years of experience supporting Air Force and Special Operations technology management or communications systems engineering.
  • Experience developing automation or applications using Python 3, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining, and utilizing SQL databases.
  • Additional experience in technology management, network engineering, or communications systems architecture is highly desired.
  • Prior experience supporting AFSOC or USSOCOM environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administration and technical management support for AFSOC ISR networks and communications systems.
  • Perform configuration management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of NIPR/SIPR client workstations and associated client support functions.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the Geospatial Product Library (GPL) server, including software patching and security configuration.
  • Maintain GPL databases, including operation of NGA synchronization tools for geospatial data distribution.
  • Operate and maintain Enterprise File Delivery (EFD) legacy data distribution services.
  • Assist with Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) acquisition, sustainment, tracking, distribution, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Support design, implementation, and management of Full Motion Video (FMV) network and communications architecture in coordination with AFSOC/A4, AFSOC/A6, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with configuration management of program assets, including development and maintenance of configuration management plans and databases.
  • Coordinate with Field Service Representatives (FSRs) and Automated Information Discovery Environment (AIDE) engineers for asset tracking and data integration.
  • Support Information Assurance (IA) activities by coordinating with 11 SOIS IA personnel to ensure compliance and documentation of IA actions.
  • Manage program data archives, including consolidation, organization, and migration of files to SharePoint portals.
  • Build, administer, and maintain SharePoint portal pages supporting program collaboration and data access.
  • Assist with program management activities and technical documentation.
  • Evaluate emerging ISR technologies and provide technical recommendations.
  • Participate in meetings, briefings, and conferences supporting AFSOC ISR requirements.
  • Support requirements management processes.
  • Develop automation solutions and workflow enhancements using scripting languages, including Python 3.
