MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As an IT Communication Systems Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of customer. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability of everything from countdown clocks to telemetry circuits, and you directly safeguard launch operations and enable seamless coordination between our customer and it's mission partners. Lead the repair and optimization of mission-critical voice, video, and data systems; oversee complex fiber/copper plant operations and high-speed network backbones. Provision, configure, and manage Layer 2/Layer 3 network hardware, ensuring robust data transport Direct real-time configuration changes during active launch windows and serve as the escalation point for complex trouble tickets. Master and maintain diverse equipment suites, including DICES digital voice, LMR radio networks, timing systems, and integrated CCTV distribution. Lead collaborative troubleshooting efforts with the customer and the partners to resolve high-priority circuit issues and cross-agency integration faults. Execute and oversee physically demanding tasks in specialized environments, including tower climbing, man-lifts, and mission-critical confined spaces (launch platforms/tunnels). Architect comprehensive preventative maintenance plans, manage strategic spare parts inventories, and certify formal test and status documentation. Participates in special projects as required. Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
  • Experience: 5+ years of related experience
  • Technical skills: Professional or Expert Certification (Cisco, Juniper, Avaya), Infrastructure Engineering/Maintenance, Advanced Network Configuration, Operational Leadership, Strategic Systems Expertise, Lifecycle and Preventive Planning
  • Security clearance level: NAC-I
  • US citizenship required
  • Role requirements: Must be comfortable working at heights (towers/lifts) and in confined spaces (launch pads/tunnels).
