About The Position

PCC Airfoils – SMP manufactures military and commercial turbine blades and vanes for aircraft and land-based applications using different materials and super alloys composed primarily of nickel and cobalt to cast the blades and vanes for gas turbine engines. SUMMARY The co-op student will be working on job assignments related to their automation or engineering education. These increasingly challenging assignments will provide an effective learning assignment for the student.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of electrical engineering
  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Good writing skills and interpersonal skills
  • US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
  • Student pursuing a degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of robotic programming a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, VB 6.0, C#, or VB.Net is a plus

Responsibilities

  • The student will apply principles that he or she has learned in school to hands-on situations.
  • The student will be responsible for accomplishing performance goals and will receive progressive responsibility throughout his/her co-op experience.
  • Will identify and fix electrical and automation problems.
  • Will attend and participate in weekly departmental meetings.
  • Will take ownership and responsibility for identified projects.
  • Participate on project teams for some assigned projects.
  • Work within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participate with peers, project team members, and other departments on new product development, product line extensions, and product enhancements.
  • Will work on automation components, PLCs, and HMIs; troubleshooting hardware issues, electrical issues, and logic issues while configuring automation.
