Position Details: Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Department: IT Inpatient & Ambulatory Services Overview of Position: Facilitates the efforts of corporate management in defining organizational goals and develops systems and procedures to achieve these goals. Works with clinical customers to identify needs, select and acquire systems, implement, manage and support clinical systems, and develop plans that will lead to high quality, safe patient care, effective and efficient operations or systems solutions. Facilitates all facets of clinical applications for Genesis Information Technology. Acts as a liaison between clinical departments, department leadership, IT and the medical staff.

Requirements

  • BSN or Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and current Ohio RN License.
  • Two years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Appropriate certifications obtained within appropriate time frame. Epic: 6 months from hire; Other application(s) as assigned: one year from hire. Competencies for applications other than Epic must be met/maintained and will be tracked by manager/director.
  • Previous healthcare application design, build and implementation experience required.
  • Two years project management experience in systems analysis, system design and/or computer system project management.
  • Excellent decision-making, facilitation, work prioritization, conflict resolution and analytical skills required.
  • Proactive problem-solver with excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to deal with multiple tasks simultaneously and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of mini-computers, client-server, personal computers and networks.
  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership abilities.
  • Capable of working with cross-functional teams to accomplish overall project goals.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a complex and changing working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the business procedures and analyzes business processes to ensure proper system configuration.
  • Develops supports and maintains documentation and procedures as needed, provides training to other IT staff and user clients as appropriate.
  • Provides application product function, design, and build expertise and experience needed for successful product implementation.
  • Effectively and proactively manages all phases of system selection/implementation by coordinating resources and providing project management for the identification of needs, acquisition or design and implementation of new system solutions
  • Ensures deliverables are approved by the appropriate users and are completed in accordance with the plan.
  • Supports all project team members with application and information systems knowledge.
  • Primary resource dedicated to designing, building, testing, and activating the application database.
  • Develops and maintains models and documentation of business and system requirements and configures system accordingly.
  • Documents and maintains all required system design and build documents.
  • Contributes to preparation of testing scripts and materials and performs unit, system, and integrated testing tasks.
  • Works with training team to develop application specific training curriculums and materials.
  • Provides expertise to the development of activation plans, application activation tasks, and production environment readiness.
  • Logs, tracks, and resolves software code implementations/modifications or enhancements and coordinates system changes.
  • Effectively utilizes project tools, technologies and methodologies to provide clear and concise documentation/communication.
  • Works with all vendors to resolve issues/problems in a timely manner.
  • Provides on-call support and troubleshooting via phone, remote connectivity or on-site if necessary.
  • Implements, maintains and follows established security measures and protocols.
  • Performs the necessary investigation and analysis to determine project feasibility.
  • Advises clients on implications of a requested change and/or an alternative solution that may better address the requirement.
  • Provides business/technical representation to the enterprise including future directions, how that direction impacts the enterprise, and how current and future systems can be exploited for the benefit of the enterprise.
  • Learns user functionality of system involved to the extent required.
  • Utilizes and follows the project management and work prioritization methodologies and protocols established by IT leadership.
  • Participates with vendors in the assessment of new systems and technologies that meet the requirements of the enterprise.
