About The Position

The Technical Writer for IT Certification Program is intended to develop curricula, course outlines, instructional methods, training aids, manuals, and other instructional materials and products that would integrate DIR data and prerequisite skills tied to CTCM & CTCD certifications. Analyze training content for accessibility; and recommend changes to make content accessible and remediate accessibility issues. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, with a wide degree of latitude with given information on current IT Procurement. Consults with staff on the development of materials by gathering accurate information and translating technical content, including descriptions of concepts, process, and systems, into clear, user-friendly language.

Requirements

  • 8 Required Experience designing, developing and implementing training curricula. Develop training programs, including instructor led courses, job‐aids, videos, etc.
  • 5 Required Skill in writing technical and business documents, and in the use of a computer and applicable software.
  • 5 Required Experience in technical writing, journalism, or communications work.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, English, education, or a related field is generally preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • 4 Preferred Knowledge of the techniques and methods of planning, organizing, and writing various types of materials
  • 4 Preferred Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite 2010 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). A high degree of aptitude and flexibility to deliver training on a myriad of software products.
