The IT & Business Systems Intern role is an opportunity to learn and assist in maintaining the organization’s technology environment by supporting both the IT infrastructure and operations, cybersecurity initiatives, and business system processes. This role blends technical support with analytical and project-oriented work, providing broad exposure to how technology impacts business performance. This individual will have the opportunity to work on a small, but diverse team of IT professionals with a solid foundation of technical skills and operational excellence. Team dynamics, collaboration and communication are essential elements of our team. Responsibilities Assist the Service Desk Team with various support request activities; including but not limited to – level 1 support tickets, account setup, access provisioning, equipment provisioning and asset management. Assist with monitoring security tools and alerts under supervision. Participate in vulnerability awareness, phishing simulations, and any other user risk mitigation activities. Support Security Ops with validating security patching, routine software updates, and remediating any high risk exploits identified. Help create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and SOPs. Support maintenance of servers, cloud services, and network components. Review and document system backups for successful completion. At the conclusion of the internship, prepare a comprehensive review of the internship experience and present to the organization Qualifications Undergraduate or graduate candidate with a career focus in IT, Computer Science, MIS, Cybersecurity, or related field. Minimum GPA 3.0. Returning to academic program at a credentialed institution for at least one semester post-internship. Basic understanding of networking, IT and/or cybersecurity concepts. Strong interest in cybersecurity, systems, and business technology.
